Rumour has it that Samsung will increase the price of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra relative to their Galaxy S21 series predecessors. The Galaxy S22 Ultra could come in at US$1,299, albeit with at least 256 GB of storage.

Reputedly, Samsung has settled on the prices for the Galaxy S22 series, thought to comprise the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. We are unable to verify these prices, so we would take them with a pinch of salt. However, they do not differ drastically from the prices that the Galaxy S21 series launched for, earlier this year.

Specifically, the Galaxy S22 is claimed to start at US$849, US$50 more expensive than the Galaxy S21. Similarly, the Galaxy S22 Plus is alleged to begin at US$1,049, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra coming in at US$1,299.

While the latter is US$100 more expensive than the entry-level Galaxy S21 Ultra, there is a caveat. Samsung is suspected to offer the Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra with a minimum of 256 GB of storage. Currently, the Galaxy S21 equivalents have 128 GB of storage; the 256 GB version of the Galaxy S21 Ultra would be US$50 cheaper than the entry-level Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy S22 series on February 8, 2022 at a Galaxy Unpacked event. The trio should be pre-orderable 10 days later; it is unclear if this is a global date, mind you. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 FE will arrive roughly a month earlier, although with current-generation hardware.
