Nokia is announcing a new affordable smartphone headed to the US market. The Nokia G300 is a $200 smartphone that brings you 5G support, but what else do you get at this price point?

At the front there’s a 6.5-inch display with HD+ (720p) resolution with a v-notch housing an 8MP selfie camera. The bezels are chunky but acceptable in this price point. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and support for face-unlock.

The Nokia G300 is powered by the Snapdragon 480 5G paired with 4GB of RAM. The former is an eight-core chipset with 2 A76-cores clocked at 2GHz plus a six-core cluster of A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The G300 will come with 64GB of expandable storage, preloaded with Android 11 out of the box.

Around back, the G300’s triple camera system is made up of a main 16MP camera, a 5MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor for taking portrait photos. The camera also supports Night mode, EIS, OZO audio surround, and wind noise cancellation.

Finally, the G300 claims up to two-day battery life with its 4,470 mAh battery with 18W charging.

The Nokia G300 will be available starting October 19 for $200 and will be available from two pre-paid carriers: Straight Talk and TracFone Wireless.
